The Killer Corona Virus

I was fascinated to read in a science journal of the manner of reproduction by the Corona Virus which has caused such havoc around the world bringing it to a virtual standstill. I was rather imaginatively reminded of the manner in which human and animal sex cells help in reproduction. It struck me as a curious but close analogy. The virus does not simply divide as in many pathogens and bacteria. On its own it is incapable of multiplication. It uses our cells to help it reproduce. After it links up with appropriate cells of its liking using its corona spike, by piercing the cell wall, it then merges with the cell and inserts its RNA joining with that of the cell thus commanding it to reproduce moreĀ  Corona viruses rather than simply reproduceĀ  another cell. It kind of possesses the cell and uses the cells capabilities to make more Corona virus ‘babies”. Furthermore it deactivates the proteins in the cell which when invaded usually help in sending alarm signals to our autoimmune system to send antibodies to kill the invader. Soon the ‘mother’ cell produces Corona viruses which then emerge from the invaded cell.

In this respect one is reminded of our sperm cells entering the Ova and merging its DNA with that of the Ova to complete the process of creating a new being. The Corona virus thusĀ  appears to act as male spermatozoa doĀ  and treats the invaded cell as its female Ova to reproduce its kind. The infection is therefore some kind of love affair between the virus and theĀ  reluctant cell whose defences have been disabled, which then becomes ‘pregnant’ with the numerous viruses within itself and as their structure gets complete within the cell it gives ‘birth’ to the viruses which then begin to look for likely mates in other cells. More appropriately one should think of rape rather than love affair as the virus forces itself on the cell to reproduce its kind. A tricky romantic lover if ever there was one!! Of course the host body cannot withstand this killer ‘love’ in some cases much like it cannot withstand the rebellion of Cancer cells.
